The vision of India - Driving Education Empowerment and Development (INDEED) Foundation is to transform lives of rural children by providing the platform and exposure to quality education, character development and skill enhancement.

INDEED Foundation works with the conviction that quality education, guidance and exposure would help rural children break free from the vicious circle of poverty and ignorance in order to become successful. It believes that wholesome Education is the fundamental building block for children to realize latent capabilities and achieve potential inspiring them to champion positive social change. The Foundation hopes to help students become self reliant, empowered, technology ready, exposed to new-age opportunities, confident and prepared to take up various vocational skill-development courses offered by the government and other private institutions for gainful employment.

Key Activities

  • Promoting youth volunteerism for social service, community engagement and nation building
  • Supplementing Education in rural government schools (onsite and online) to improve learning and performance
  • Exchange programs for exposure, peer learning and inculcating civic sense
  • Training, experience-sharing, mentoring, guidance, counseling and motivation for informed decision making when making academic, career and life choices
  • Events and contests to foster competitive spirit and character development

Impact

  • Touching lives of 5,000 students from 25 schools in dozens of villages
  • Covering over 50 villages in 3 districts of Rajasthan
  • 100+ active volunteers engaged in the last 3 years from premier institutes (MBM Engineering College Jodhpur, Rajasthan Technical University Kota, Modi institute of Management and Technology Kota, and IIT Jodhpur)
  • 30% increase in pass rate of students in class X Board exams in intervention schools since 2014 with significant improvement in grades
  • Implementation partner for DigiPrayas digital financial literacy program of Axis Bank Ltd. in Rajasthan
  • Sambhavna Exposure Visits and Student Exchange program – participation from prestigious schools of Jodhpur (Euro international School, Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls Public School and Vidhyashram International) with reciprocal visits by rural government school students to these school campuses
  • 15+ Motivation Platforms - experience sharing and counseling sessions conducted for volunteers by Bureaucrats, Indian Engineering Services officers, PSU managers, entrepreneurs, consultants and businessmen

We are commencing online classes through Skype and other web technologies to reach out to many more rural schools and students. Expanding outreach and operations to other districts of Rajasthan and neighbouring states soon.

Communication Processes

Personal Visits

  • To schools & colleges for garnering volunteers: participation in their forums and annual events etc.
  • To influencers in the villages like retired teachers, elected representatives (Sarpanch), parents and community
  • Education departments and government schools to meet officials, principals and teachers to apprise them of INDEED initiatives and encourage participation in the programs
  • To successful people in the area for taking motivational sessions
  • ‘Chai pe Charcha’ (informal face-to-face conversations with volunteers) – interesting and stimulating discussions with students

NOTE: The Foundation is very proud to share that such informal sessions helped fuel interest in viewing TED videos. With further encouragement and support INDEED volunteers from Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) Kota successfully organises the first TEDx Event (TEDxRTU) in Kota on 09 April 2017.

Atma network has graciously offered its advisory support and consulting services helping INDEED Foundation with relevant resources and guidance.

It has helped INDEED appraise its current life stage by conducting in-house evaluation of current strategies, projects and programs. At each stage of this evaluation, continuous guidance and handholding is being provided by Atma network to help INDEED in improving it’s understanding and streamlining its processes to realize its vision and mission.
