Atma was founded in 2007 by Hayley (Lee) Bolding and Adrienne van Dok along with founding trustees Mr. Rahul Sood and Mr. Mahesh Rathod.
Hayley (Lee) from Australia and Adrienne from the Netherlands both came to Mumbai as members of AIESEC. Working with NGOs in Mumbai as interns, Lee and Adrienne were struck by the need for consistent professional assistance for NGOs. Taking a major leap of faith, they moved to India permanently to found Atma.
In 2009, Mary Ellen Matsui joined Hayley Bolding in taking Atma’s vision ahead. Together, they brought the organisation to the place it is today.
