Muktangan is a partnership between the Paragon Charitable Trust and the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM). It pioneered the Whole School-Based approach by developing a model that incorporates all the various aspects of quality education: classroom environment, curriculum and content, teachers playing the role of facilitators and students being active learners. Muktangan currently has seven English medium schools in G south ward in Mumbai. The Muktangan education method is being implemented in these schools. The schools in turn serve as living laboratories where the whole school based approach is demonstrated, assessed and refined.
Muktangan’s mission is to offer low-cost, high quality inclusive and child-centered education to address the learning needs of underprivileged children and their families.
It is an innovative and exemplary educational program that offers alternatives to the traditional education methods in India.
