CEDP Trust: The Journey So Far

CEDP   |   13 April 2018

Council of Education and Development Program (CEDP) Skill Institute was formed in 2010 with the sole objective of providing an improved quality of life to individuals and groups through apt training and education. The CEDP Trust has been working since 2013 as a not-for-profit organisation. They are committed to providing students from marginalized sections of society relevant training solutions by presenting them with economic opportunities through vocational skill training and promoting entrepreneurship.

They aim at establishing an institution which acts as an incubator for underprivileged students to help them become more self reliant socially and economically and to ensure that they become invaluable contributors to our society.

Currently CEDP has 147 training and education centers across the country. In the training and education space, CEDP trust provides training in the areas ofParamedical, Automotive, Hotel Management, Industrial Safety, Financial Accounting & Management, Civil Engineering and Management.

Since its inception, CEDP has partnered with NGOs to provide livelihood training and create a measurable impact in the area of skill development. Their core programs are either associated with internships and/or placement assistance as equipping individuals with essential skills enables them to tackle ever emerging economic challenges. CEDP has worked with more than 2000 students in Mumbai through projects in education, skill development, and livelihood.

CEDP prides itself for being different from other skill development organisations because of certain key elements. Some of these are its enviable infrastructure with equipment for simulated learning, its tie ups with reputed organisations and placement support, its trainers who have an average teaching experience of 10 years and a strong alumni network who help assist the youth

CEDP has churned out many success stories: from helping a poor farmer’s son become an automobile technician to helping a woman earn a certification as a nurse which enabled her to support her parents.

CEDP’s continued association with Atma Network will help them reach out to those who are willing to contribute towards their cause. This partnership will strengthen CEDP Trust, and allow them to increase their reach to the youth and enhance their employability.
